This is just the new version of the National Brain Day print I uploaded a few days ago. Based on the feedback of my teacher and classmates, I went with this color palette over the blue/grey palette. Everyone seemed to think it needed more "pop", and I guess the red delivered.
[Original 'National Brain Day' Comments] The assignment : Make an 8.5" x 11" event poster using no more than 5 colors (white not included). All assets must be created by you, and it must only use Illustrator.
My event was National Brain Day, a day in which American citizens are encouraged, via print, to wake up and think about the newly elected president (hence the date).
The first part of our assignment started with designing a logo for 'our' company. The star symbol in the man's forehead and up in the corners is actually a 'd' and a 'T' (for doubleTHINK). Yea, star logos, they've been done, but i just thought it fit, and that's all that really matters. My teacher seemed to dig it, so, hopefully I get a good grade.
Oddly, this is the first all vector piece I've ever done. It's for our Designing Computer Graphics class which is more or less an intro to Photoshop and Illustrator.
Just in case you're curious, the font is Berthold Akzidenz Grotesk. Some extended and condensed versions.
thank you much. yea, i had textures in it originally, but then found out the assignment was to be done in Illustrator only with no "pixels" to be seen at full zoom, so...
i will go back over it and make it more authentic at some point. thank you for the favorite too...
Colours are sublime.
kinnda like the 70s movie posters...
